In-home or Off-Site.
I know how frustrating it can be when your dog exhibits behaviors that seem beyond your control. I can help you make sense of your dog's behavior and design a program that will replace undesirable, inappropriate behaviors with more desirable ones.
I offer training for problem issues such as:
Growling over food or toys (resource guarding)
Behavior Change Package Example
If your dog is leash reactive or fearful of other dogs on walks, a training plan would look something like this:
Learn the mechanics of how to carefully expose your dog to fearful stimuli. I will show you the proper timing and how to judge your dog's body language to determine your dog's comfort level around other dogs. From there, the systematic training with exposure begins.
Practice new learned technique at home or in your dog's familiar environment (neighborhood walk) using a decoy dog or familiar neighborhood dog.
Exposure to other dogs in an unfamiliar environment (We might meet at a dog park, shopping center or other place).
Continuation of exposure to other dogs, working on decreasing reactivity and furthering your dog's coping skills.
Virtual Evaluation (Behavior)
